11. Savor the Amsterdam Light Festival

It features many global artists and takes place every year from December to January in the Dutch capital. For this yearly winter event, talented artists create artworks around one particular theme using light – they are displayed along several routes in the city center. If you want to visit the exhibition, go on one boat tour which takes you along the route on canals of Amsterdam; else get one map from the information point as well as following the route. It can be either on foot or by bike, as part of one guided tour or on your own. It is up to you.

In 2019, “Disrupt!” is the theme. It is worth going to the Amsterdam Light Festival, not just to admire the city under one different light but as you get to appreciate some impressive art installations by several amazing artists, such as the piece of Ai Weiwei for the previous edition.

You can visit the Amsterdam Light Festival each year to January 19th, 2020, from November 28th, 2019.
